Gillian Deutch, Partner

Gillian is a Partner based in the New York office and is a member of the firm’s commercial real estate group.  With over 20 years of transactional real estate experience, Gillian assists clients in navigating a variety of transactions, including the financing, refinancing, purchase, sale and leasing of complex commercial and residential real estate as well as the restructuring of deals. She represents borrowers and lenders in the origination of mortgage and mezzanine loans. Gillian has experience with various property types, such as office, hotel, condominium, self-storage, residential multi-family, commercial office, shopping centers, mixed-use properties, and retail properties in multiple states. She also advises clients on Fannie Mae loans, provides New York enforceability opinions and handles condo releases, construction contracts and securitization, CLO, repo line and workout documentation.

Prior to joining Berman, Boyle & Engel LLC, Gillian was a partner at two large law firms, with additional associate experience at two other large international law firms. Gillian received her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she served on the Editorial Board of the Moot Court Honor Society, and her B.S. in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
